Malope ‘Queen Pink’
Malope trifida

Malope Queen Pink is a country garden charmer that produces hibiscus-shaped flowers in brilliant shades of fuchsia and pink among lush green foliage. This easy to grow annual is a prolific bloomer pumping out the blossoms from early summer until fall frost on sturdy 36" inch plants.

Ideal for both cut flower production and home cutting gardens alike.

Site: full sun
Height: 32-36"
Days to maturity: 100-110 days

How to Grow:

Start seed indoors in trays 6-8 weeks before last frost;

 Sow seeds into starter trays or packs with a sterile starter mix, and cover seeds with 1/8 inch of soil. Seedlings should be transplanted into larger pots once they are large enough to be handled. Continue growing in a cool, protected area, and then set in their permanent location after all danger of frost has passed. Mallow can also be sown directly outdoors into prepared seedbeds once the frost season has passed. Provide 6 hours of full sun each day.

The Malope trifida tolerates average soil although compost and occasional fertilizer adds to its health and bloom potential. It tolerates some dryness but needs regular watering if rain is absent. Removing or deadheading spent flowers encourages new flower growth.

How to harvest:
Harvest when 1-2 flowers are open on a stem.

Vase life:

long vase life; 7-10 day
