Stock 'Purple Heart'  produces sweet-scented, well-filled flower spikes with a warm deep purple color.

Versatile single-stem stock.Long stems with 1 1/2–2", bright rose blooms. Early blooming one-cut series.

 

 Edible Flowers: The peppery, clove-like flavor of the flowers lends itself well to use as a garnish on salads, desserts, and drinks.an early start.

 

Plant Stock early in late fall until late spring, for an extra early harvest in spring to well into the summer. Stock  is known for a powerful plant structure and high quality firm flower stems. No fuss or extra work.

Culinary note: Stock flowers are edible and are usually added raw to salads or used as a garnish to desserts, giving a perfumed flavour. They can also be candied.

How to Grow:

 

Sow ¼" deep into 128-cell plug flats 5-6 weeks before last frost. After danger of frost has passed, harden off plants and transplant to the field or protected structure. Direct seed - After last frost. Do not pinch plants. Succession-plant every two weeks for multiple harvests. Stock is a cool-weather crop. Spring and fall-blooming successions are optimal.( Transplant (recommended)

 

Harvest:

Fresh - Harvest when ⅓–½ the florets on the stem are open.

With a proper care and handling up to 5-8 days
