Foxglove Camelot Cream Seed
Digitalis purpurea
Blooms the first year from seed.
Ivory and cream bells with dark red freckling in the throat: a dramatic and elegant color combination. Bells circle the stem. Plants produce 1–2 large, full, center spikes. High-quality side shoots make abundant cut flowers and fill out the plants in garden beds. Great for bouquets and gardens.
*All parts of the plants are poisonous if ingested. Wear gloves when harvesting and use caution around children and pets.*

How to Grow:
Days to germination:14-21 days at 65-70°F (18-21°C).
Sowing:Transplant (recommended):
Sow 10-12 weeks before last frost. Do not cover seed as light is required for germination. Bottom water or mist to avoid covering the seed with displaced soil. Transplant into cell packs or larger containers after the first true leaves appear, 15-20 days after sowing. Harden-off and transplant outside after the last frost.
Direct seed: Sow as soon as soil can be worked, only in areas with long growing seasons. Do not cover seed as light is required for germination. Keep soil moist.
Soil requirements:Moist, well-drained soil.
How to harvest:Harvest when the lower 1/3 of flowers on a spike have opened. Deadheading encourages additional blooms.
Vase Life:
Vase life of 6-8 days if flower preservative is used.
Harvesting/Vase Life:
The trick to getting the longest vase life from foxglove is to cut it before the bees find it. When the blooms are pollinated, they drop from the stems; harvest early when just a few blossoms are open. Expect a vase life of 6-8 days if flower preservative is used.
